This website hosts the Fridays for Future Iceland (Loftslagsverkfall) campaign, aimed at bringing attention to the need for more radical climate action on behalf of the Icelandic government. The campaign will run from 12th of February until 5th of March 2021.

1. DECLARE A CLIMATE EMERGENCY
The government needs to admit the severity of the situation because climate change is one of the current biggest threats to mankind. This is why we now talk about a climate crisis- because we have reached a state of emergency. With such a declaration the government confirms the severity of the situation and it’s will to respond in an appropriate manner.
2. GOALS PUT INTO LAW
We demand that goals regarding climate issues are put into a law that obligates authorities and businesses to work towards them in an organized manner.
2. LOOK AT TOTAL EMISSIONS AND BASE YOUR ACTIONS ON THEM
We demand that the authorities set a goal of at least a 50% decrease in total emissions including LULUCF before the year 2030, so we can reach carbon neutrality by 2040.
